Nantwich Show and International Cheese Awards

The Nantwich Show is a family-friendly day out with something for everyone.  From livestock displays and craft demonstrations to live cookery demonstrations by celebrity chefs.  It’s also host to the International Cheese Awards, the world’s largest cheese awards and GL events UK has been the show’s sole supplier of marquees and temporary structures for over 10 years.

The client, Nantwich Agricultural Society, required structures big enough to cater for an international demonstration and awards venue, catering and hospitality, displays, shows and demonstrations.  The awards marquee supplied needed to maximise the presence of the Cheese Awards, whilst the other marquees were required to be simple yet effective.

Structures

A total of 12,000sqm of temporary structures were supplied, including the 40m temperature controlled pavilion used for the International Cheese Awards, plus other marquees and tents used for hospitality, crafts, livestock and members.

• Hospitality marquee
• County Show marquee

Challenge

The Nantwich Show is on a small site posing a great challenge to get all of the corporate hospitality suites into place, sometimes navigating around trees.

Outcome

The flexibility of the marquees meant that after the show, the organisers were able to utilise the structure for a concert.
