GL events brings in internal health and safety resource

The GL events UK Group has appointed Tony Gelsthorpe as company Health and Safety Manager. The hire comes as part of the organisation’s commitment to ensuring the highest standards of work, professionalism and customer care across its client contracts.

Tony joins the company from construction business Van Elle Ltd, having previously gained experience across multiple industries as a leading health and safety professional. His experience includes leadership roles at Therco Ltd, DAS Technology Ltd and Griffith Laboratories Ltd, as well as being a trainer and auditor of Apple Industrial Safety.

He also brings with him a wealth of accreditations, including the successful implementation and maintenance of ISOs 9001:2008, 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007, experience that will give GL events’ clients added confidence when it comes to crowd and customer safety. As part of his remit, Tony will deliver internal training programmes and has provided CITB health and safety training across a range of industries throughout his career.

As well as ensuring excellence and knowledge across all builds and installations undertaken by the company, Tony will provide customers with up-to-date legal and best practice information to ensure that both GL events, and its partners and customers, are adhering to the highest and most recent health and safety standards. He will oversee the sharing of information within GL events UK’s business and its network of clients and partners.
