GL events Owen Brown is jumping for joy after winning a prestigious contract with The Jockey Club to provide temporary structures to the Cheltenham Festival.

Building on a close relationship with the Jockey Club extending back many years through the provision of temporary hospitality structures, GL events Owen Brown has been intrusted to install more than 5,500sqm of structures at Cheltenham Racecourse, home of the prestigious Cheltenham Festival and host of the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Cheltenham Festival, which takes place from March 15-18 2016, is the first major event in the year’s UK equestrian calendar and a highlight of horse racing’s Jump season. The festival culminates with Gold Cup Day on March 18 when thousands of racing fans descend on the Gloucestershire spa town for a day of racing and an atmosphere to match.

GL events has been tasked with providing a range of temporary structures that will create hospitality suites and lounges for corporate clients to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere across the four day festival. The company will project manage the full interior fit out with extensive furniture to create a unique and elegant dining experience within each of the restaurants as well as back of house facilities for use as temporary kitchens and toilets.

Tom Alldread, Project Manager at GL events, commented on the contract win: “Once again, GL events has demonstrated that it is a front runner when it comes to providing first-class temporary infrastructure and first-rate hospitality facilities.”

“Having recently worked with The Jockey Club at Cheltenham Racecourse to provide infrastructure to The Open, our new contract to install temporary structures to the Cheltenham Festival further cements our relationship and we look forward to March when the team will be on-site at the Gloucestershire venue for our first major outdoor event of the year.”
