Professionals working in the housing sector spent time in temporary accommodation of a different kind when they attended a national exhibition held in one of GL events Owen Brown’s temporary structures.

Held at the University of Warwick’s campus, the National Housing Federation’s Housing Finance Exhibition took place in a 2,300sqm temporary structure erected specially for the occasion.

It was the 10th year that Owen Brown has provided accommodation for the event, which was organised by Foremarke Exhibitions and took place last month, and the task involved erecting three individual temporary structures, including the main hall, which measured 2,040sqm and featured a distinctive curved Eclipse roof.

It was joined onto a reception structure – which had two sets of glazed double entrance doors – while a further 180sqm structure on the side of the main structure housed the toilets.

Despite the somewhat unusual nature of the site, which gradually fell away in a slope beneath the structures, Owen Brown was able to successfully erect the temporary structure by raising one end of the exhibition hall by 700mm.

All of the temporary structures had hard PVC panel walls and interlocking cassette flooring system, while outside we created a 10m long pathway using raised decking and featuring a glass handrail.
