GL events Owen Brown is going up in the world after winning a contract to supply PETRONAS, the headline sponsor of the Malaysia Grand Prix, with an Absolute triple deck structure to be used as part of its celebrations and hospitality during the second event of the 2014 Formula One season.
The three-tiered building will be built on the site of the 88 storey-high PETRONAS Twin Towers, one of the most iconic buildings in Kuala Lumpar and in close proximity to the Sepang International Circuit where the Grand Prix will be in action from 22nd to 24th March.
PETRONAS, one of the world’s biggest gas and oil companies and the most successful company in Asia, also sponsors the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS Formula One team including drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
With building work commencing at the beginning of March, PETRONAS has a packed calendar of events planned including a street driving demonstration by Lewis and Nico that will pass right by the triple deck structure, which will be used as an observation tower.
The ground floor will offer fine dining for around 150 distinguished guests while the second and middle and upper floors will be used as bar and lounge areas with fantastic viewing potential.
The day after the Grand Prix, Owen Brown’s Absolute structure will be used for a special launch event by Mercedes before it is transformed again to host a gala dinner and the Grand Prix Ball. The Twin Towers Alive Concert will complete the festivities on 29th March. This is Owen Brown first contract win in the Far East and comes after a year of discussions and site visits following an approach by the client after seeing the fantastic structures including the Triple Deck hospitality facilities Owen Brown builds for Royal Ascot.
