GL events Owen Brown became a high flyer this weekend as it supplied British Airways with a structure for its aviation themed installation at Sport Relief’s family activity day on Sunday 23rd March.

Held at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, GL events Owen Brown installed three hard sided structures, linked side by side, from its Ultimate range to create an entertaining area that hosted a huge fuselage feature, recreating the inside of an aircraft, and a children’s play area.

The BA structure was part of a free one-day event that invited people of all ages to ‘have-a-go’ at various Olympic sports as well as offering a chance to get up close to some of the iconic elements of the London 2012 games such as the Olympic torch.

BA’s feature was just one of the many events the leading airline was involved with for Sport Relief, raising £2.4million. BA also had staff cycling 28-miles around Loch Ness, climbing the Three Peaks mountains in 24-hours and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey hosting a ‘Flash Gordon Mob’ 100-metre run in Santa Monica, California for British ex-pats.

Sport Relief 2014 raised over £51million for deserving causes in the UK and around the world.

Scott Hayward, Managing Director of GL events UK Group, said: “We were delighted to support British Airways and Sport Relief in this fantastic fundraising event and it was great for our build team to be back on site working at the Olympic Park.”
