GL events provided an unusual layout of seating for singer Björk’s sold-out concert at London’s Alexandra Palace.

Held in the Great Hall, ‘Björk, a special night in the round at the Palace’ was enjoyed by over 8,000 fans of the Icelandic performer, in a mix of standing and seated areas surrounding the circular central stage.

Approached by Alexandra Palace to come up with an effective solution, GL events used a unique combination of tiered seating, flat floor seating and standing terraces, all at different rakes, to ensure the effective use of the 6,500 square metre space.

What was unusual about this particular event was the mix of seated and standing spectators. Normally the standing audience would surround the stage, with terrace seating on the perimeter. This concert required a mixture of some seating to one side and standing to the other, with a combination of the two in one area.
