GL events Snowdens will help artists from all over Europe showcase their latest work direct to thousands of buyers after winning the contract to provide marquees for Windsor Contemporary Art Fair.

The Windsor Contemporary Art Fair, which takes place in November, is one of the biggest events of its kind in the business and features high quality work from a mixture of new talent and well-established names, all under one roof.

It will be held at the Royal Windsor Racecourse in Berkshire and Snowdens will supply a series of structures, including the main marquee, which will be fitted with white translucent roof skins to allow in plenty of natural light for exhibitors to showcase the pieces and will be linked to the racecourse’s main grandstand by a covered walkway.

The fair, which is in its ninth year, was established to provide buyers with a chance to buy affordable pieces of art – prices range from £40 to £4,000 – and Keith Bishop, director of Snowdens, welcomed the contract win.

He said: “The Windsor Contemporary Art Fair has become extremely well established over the years and so we are very pleased to have been invited to provide the structures for such a successful show.

“What is especially pleasing is that it is held in November, which is outside our usual summer high season and is testament to the fact that our marquees can provide a warm, dry environment for events such as an art sale, no matter what time of year it is.”
Deborah James, director of the Windsor Contemporary Art Fair, said: “The nature of our fair means the quality of the marquee is absolutely vital.
“Snowdens were highly recommended to us and were able to offer not only competitive prices but a good level of service. We are very much looking forward to working with them.
