We helped Epsom Racecourse to accommodate thousands of spectators, including Her Majesty the Queen, attending the Investec Derby Festival.

• General admission catering
• Sponsors areas
• Wet weather cover

Structures

We spent nearly a month erecting 2,750sqm of temporary structures across the Surrey racecourse, ready for the influx of 120,000 race-goers over the course of the three-day event.

Our offer of structures included:

• Dining Structure – 24m x 80m Premier structure with curved Eclipse roof
• Bistro – 12m x 30m Absolute structure with Apex roof
• Seafood Bar – 2 x 5m x 5m Pagoda structures
• Owners and trainers area – 5m x 20m Absolute structure with Apex roof.

GL events Snowdens, also supplied more than 2,000sqm worth of marquees for additional public areas at the festival.

Outcome

The Epsom Derby is the biggest race meet on the calendar and is watched by spectators all around the world so we are thrilled to be able to supply our high quality structures and marquees to this event.

Over the years, we have seen this event grow and evolve; it is great to see an event that pays as much attention to its hospitality spaces as it does to its general admission areas.

Two of the GL events divisions, Owen Brown and Snowdens, have enjoyed an association with Epsom Downs for over five years.

During this time, the two companies have provided us with temporary structures during our racing season (in particular during the prestigious Investec Derby Festival). They have worked alongside us throughout the planning stages to assist in the delivery of a first class event, on time and within budget.
