GL events is a lively and diverse business which supplies temporary infrastructure to events, as well as industrial markets.  It contains seven separate business units which operate across the UK and Ireland.  

A central marketing team, based out of Castle Donington, manages and develops the marketing activity for all seven brands, with a strong focus on digital marketing and lead generation.  

A Marketing Executive is sought to work across three of our business units and supporting the Marketing Managers of those units in the development of content for websites, design for online channels, creation of blogs and social media content, email marketing, and in the management of customer data through our CRM.  The role will also assist with the co-ordination of presence at trade shows and exhibitions, and in the management of the collection of customer satisfaction feedback via digital surveys.

Job description

Specific responsibilities will be:

  • Maintaining the content of websites and developing blog content
  • Development of email campaigns including the design and sending of e-shots, and reporting on results.
  • Liaising with customers to create compelling case studies and obtain testimonials.
  • Liaising with business units to build library of images and commission professional photography as required.
  • Social media management – creating plans and posts primarily for LinkedIn but also potentially Instagram and Twitter and analysis of results.
  • Assistance with design tasks including social media graphics, PDFs, infographics, brochure updates and others as needed.
  • Co-ordinating the presence of business units at trade shows and exhibitions; liaison with suppliers and management of logistics.
  • Management of customer data through HubSpot CRM.
  • Tracking enquiry attribution, and reporting on ROI of PPC activity
  • Supporting the Marketing Team to improve the organic ranking of websites and delivery of SEO improvement plan.

The successful applicant

Essential criteria

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a marketing environment
  • Strong copywriting ability for marketing collateral
  • Working knowledge of a CMS (Craft would be an advantage)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills
  • Experience of creating and scheduling social media content

 

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of email marketing software
  • Experience of events and exhibitions
  • Experience of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop/Illustrator/Acrobat/InDesign/Dreamweaver)
  • Experience of using a CRM (HubSpot would be an advantage)
  • Experience of using video editing software

Mobility Requirements 

  • A full clean driving licence is required for the role and a willingness to travel as required.
