GL events seized the opportunity to showcase its creativity and flexibility for the inaugural season of the all-electric FIA Formula E Championship race series.

A complete worldwide solution, including full internal design, build and fit-out, was designed and delivered around 10 races, which took place on city streets in diverse locations around the globe, including Beijing, Berlin, Miami and Malaysia.

With structures supplied including pit lane garages, hospitality, race control, media compounds and vast eVillages, home to all manner of visitor interaction and entertainment areas, each e-Prix requires an extremely efficient, individual approach, minimising disruption to host cities while complying with the Championship’s sustainability and innovation ethos.

Formula E Facilities and Track Design Manager, Oliver McCrudden commented: “The nature of our operation requires the highest levels of pre-planning, technical product knowledge, and creative solution provision; all while delivering against our sustainability and innovation message. GL events is providing invaluable support and expertise as we develop the Championship package and I look forward to working together on this exciting project.”

The highest levels of strategic planning and technical expertise are key to the success of such a project. Due to the short turnaround time between races, shipments and labour are planned in great detail. Our solution features temporary structures which can be installed by our GL events Group partners around the world, delivering the great benefit of expert local knowledge.
