GL events UK is celebrating after winning one prestigious industry award and being nominated for a second.
GL events UK was named Production Partner of the Year at the Event Magazine Awards held at London’s Eventim Apollo.
The temporary structure and event overlay specialist was praised for its work over the past year on the first FIA Formula-E Championship, a new stand facility at Watford Football Club, and other major sporting events such as the British Grand Prix and Open Championships.
Toby Bennett, Sales Director at GL events, said: “We were thrilled to hear we had won this fantastic award but then to get a second nomination was amazing. To be recognised by one’s peers is the highest honest.”
This year’s awards saw 24 category winners on the night, hosted by television presenter Steve Jones, with more than 700 in attendance to celebrate their wins.
The company was still celebrating when it discovered it had been nominated for the title of Event Supplier of the Year in the National Outdoor Events Association (NOEA) Awards.
The NOEA Awards aim to recognise some of the ‘movers and shakers’ who are at the forefront in driving the event industry forward and the winner will be announced at the Awards Dinner on Thursday 26th November at the Pump Rooms in Bath.
The hat trick came GL events won the members award for Best Temporary Overlay Company at the inaugural annual Major Events Summit, led by Major Events International’s two Steering groups.
The event brings together some of the industry leaders in the iconic and growing global sports event market to share best practice and market trends, showcase new technology and discuss key themes regarding security, event services & venue operations.
