Glasgow 2014 today announces GL events Field & Lawn Limited as an Official Overlay and Temporary Structures Provider for the Commonwealth Games.
This will include responsibility for the Polyclinic enclosure in the Athletes’ Village and overlay solutions at a number of Games venues.
The Polyclinic will operate 24 hours a day and will provide medical services from emergency dental care, to physiotherapy and sports massage services to athletes and team officials throughout the Games.
GL events Field & Lawn Limited will also provide marquees and other structures for use at a number of Games venues, including the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, the Emirates Arena, Tollcross International Swimming Centre and a temporary squash showcourt at Scotstoun Sports Campus. The temporary structures will be used for a variety of purposes at Games venues from medical to merchandise tents.
GL events Field & Lawn Limited is a joint venture between worldwide event solutions company GL Events and Scottish-based marquee hire company Field & Lawn Limited.
GL events provides services for events across the world from congresses and conventions to cultural and sporting events. Previous events it has provided services for are G20 meetings in France and China, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Confederations Cup 2013 in Brazil and the Six Nations Rugby Championship.
Field & Lawn Limited is a marquee-hire company based in Scotland, with branches in Edinburgh, Bristol and Manchester.
Temporary elements, known as ‘overlay’, will be provided to supplement existing Glasgow 2014 venues to meet the demands of the Games and are essential to the delivery of a safe, enjoyable and well-organised Games.
