Watch a video showcase of the temporary structures created by GL events UK for Hillhead 2018; the world’s largest gathering of quarrying, construction and recycling manufacturers. The event takes place biennially in a disused quarry in Buxton, Derbyshire.
Site Manager Shaun Mitchell was on location at Buxton from the beginning of June to oversee operations and said:
“This is a big, big event covering over 135,000 Sqm and attracting 18,000 visitors from all over the world. It’s a complex logistical challenge to build structures whilst also moving in very large, heavy machinery to the correct locations, safely and on time.”
GL events UK provided structures for registration, catering, the main pavilion and offices and also provided structures for the client and event organiser QMJ Group, plus 14 other clients in association with Saward Marketing.
Site Supervisor Lloyd Paterson and Kes Mitchell, Site Charge-hand, were both on-site during the build and also during the live event days, providing on-site support for clients.
Hillhead 2018 took place from 26-28 June 2018 and filming took place during two very hot days on 7th during the build phase and on 26th June for the show’s opening day.
