GL events UK has enjoyed a summer of festivals, working with some of Britain’s biggest and most high-profile outdoor events including BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans’ CarFest North and South, the V Festival and completes the line-up next weekend with Jamie Oliver’s Big ‘Feastival’.

CarFest mixes motoring, music and food to create two huge lifestyle events where visitors get to see amazing bands, classic cars and rub shoulders with famous faces such as celebrity baker Paul Hollywood and bands such as Texas.

GL events supplies around 85 temporary structures across the two events, creating just shy of 10,000 square metres of space at Oulton Park, Cheshire, and Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire.

A mix of Absolute Peak structures is used to house car exhibitions, including iconic Formula 1 cars, on the arena field and structures for food and drink exhibitions, plus a VIP lounge, on the music field.

Weston Park’s V Festival, the Midland’s biggest music festival, also sees GL events supply over 35 marquees and temporary structures to create backstage areas and the village that sits alongside the performance stages.

Backstage areas featuring VIP bars and dressing rooms were used by the headline acts including Justin Timberlake, ED Sheeran, Lily Allen and The Killers. Meanwhile front of house, the structures became general bar areas, catering, medical areas, and merchandise stores.

There’s more celebrity involvement at the Big Feastival, presented by chef Jamie Oliver and Blur frontman Alex James. GL events has eight different types of kit from it’s Absolute, Premier, Garden pagodas, Colony Club, Smart System, Piazza pagodas, Mercury, Anchors and Traditional range, on site to create over 45 separate buildings.

The structures are being used to present celebrity cookery theatres, master classes, children’s play areas and VIP hospitality to name but a few. Around 3,500 square metres of structures are used to build the Feastival village, surrounded by over 500 metres of picket fencing.

Scott Hayward, Managing Director of GL events, said: “The beauty of all these events is that they continue to grow in popularity and raise the bar further when it comes to content so every year we provide more structures and infrastructure to make sure everybody is accommodated for, whatever the weather.”
