Temporary structure providers GL events Owen Brown will help DJ Chris Evans raise money for Children in Need once again after it won the contract to supply his Carfest North and South events for a second year .

The company will provide around 6,000sqm worth of temporary space to each event, which were both launched last year and attracted bumper crowds drawn by a mixture of classic cars, good food, family entertainment and live music.

Carfest South takes place at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire from August 23 to 25, while Carfest North, which has switched venues to Oulton Park Race Circuit in Cheshire, takes place from August 2 to 4.

Owen Brown’s structures will range from 525sqm hard-sided Eclipse structures to soft-sided traditional pole marquees supplied by its sister company, GL events Snowdens.

They will be spread out across each site’s 11 zones and will perform a variety of functions, including a children’s entertainment tent, a VIP lounge, covered parking spaces for classic cars and Britain’s Best Pavilion – where small food companies will be invited to showcase their produce.

James Anderson, commercial director at Owen Brown, said: “We thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Carfest events last year and are already looking forward to seeing what is on offer this time round.

“While much of their success last year was down to Chris Evans’s popularity, they also thrived because they recognised the need to cater for the whole family by offering a wide variety of attractions.”

Last year, around 55,000 people attended the two Carfest events, raising a combined £968,735 for Children in Need.
