GL events UK Stadia Division, has been appointed as the Principal Contractor to undergo the Plymouth Argyle Football Club (PAFC) redevelopment scheme. The £7 million project takes place over a 12-month period and includes the design and build of the new changing room facilities, terrace construction and stand redevelopment.

The redevelopment of the Mayflower Stand includes the removal of the existing defective roof structure and replacement of a new steel frame, new lower concrete terrace and 5,000 new seats, increasing the capacity to 17,904. The works includes new cladding and curtain walling, internal fit out and finishes, new electrical and mechanical installations and a new bar and conferencing facilities.

The external façade of the redevelopment will see new cladding materials in coordination with the club’s colours, a new curtain walling entrance, new facing masonry work and a new concrete terracing facility.

On completion of the scheme GL events UK will hand over a completely reconditioned structure back to the client, with new conference and banqueting facilities, a new office block extension to the rear of the Mayflower, new and improved toilets, new concessions and kiosks, a new passenger lift, a new club shop, ticket office and supporters’ bar.
