Showcasing the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2018

In July 2018 GL events UK provided temporary structures at the legendary Goodwood Festival of Speed for six high end brands; Bonhams, Cummins, Porsche, Wera Tools and Goodwood itself.

The largest structure was a 2,400 sqm Absolute Eclipse used as the Bonhams Auction house, it featured a vast array of motor vehicles and automotive memorabilia with one car in the auction selling for a record price. Also within the structure was an auction rostrum, several sales desks and a refreshment bar for the buyers to relax and enjoy the auction.

Once the auction was finished and the cars were removed, the space was repurposed as a luxurious dining area and ballroom by night. This allowed the Duke and Duchess to give their invited guests a taste of Goodwood House hospitality in style.

The Goodwood sponsors’ hospitality enclosure, a 900 sqm Absolute Eclipse featured nine open bays along the side elevation facing the track, creating a guest experience that was second to none. Guests could enjoy the smell of tyres and fuel mixed with the excitement of seeing cars fly by as they go up the hill climb. The structure also had an adjoining champagne and seafood bar for the public to enjoy.

There were bespoke retail showrooms for Cummins, Wera Tools and Porsche where the Absolute range of structures were transformed in to spectacular spaces for the manufacturers to show off their products.

In total 10 Absolute structures were installed covering a total of 5,473 sqm of floor space and 3,873 sqm of carpet and decking was laid.

The Festival was enjoyed by more than 200,000 visitors over four days.

2018 is the first year of a four-year partnership between GL events UK and Goodwood to provide structures across several iconic flagship events.
