BP Annual Conference

BP’s Annual Conference and Exhibition was held in Hazlehead Park, Aberdeen

Requirement

The client wanted a series of marquees suitable for BP’s Annual Conference to be used as a reception, exhibition, chalets and services.  They all required a high quality bespoke interior finish to create a dramatic backdrop to the conference.

Challenges

The site chosen at Hazlehead Park, Aberdeen was a heavily sloping area, which is always a challenge when building a level structure.

The park, which is owned by the local council and used for a number of events each year, was only available for use on the condition that it was left in a pristine state for an event the following week.

Due to sloping nature of the ground, the marquees had to be positioned on the top of the hill which meant a large amount of trackway was required just to get the 100-tonne crane into position for the Giant marquee.

Structures supplied

The main venue was made using a Giant marquee with an interior flat white roof lining and bespoke purple tack-off gables and walls.

The entrance to the main venue was made with a 2m x 8m and a 3mx 12m Premier Mercury marquee, fitted with bespoke tack-off lilac linings throughout and a fully glazed frontage.

The Reception area was completed with bespoke flat tack-off lilac linings throughout and was divided into areas for an exhibition and drinks reception.

A luxury Moduvac toilet system was installed inside a 15m x 15m marquee, fitted with a bespoke horizontal lining.

A 15m x 30m marquee was divided up for use as a Kitchen and back of house services.

All marquees were fitted with an integral cassette floor system to create a level finish.
